EVENTS

In addition to the "open house" every Sunday afternoon, the House of Pacific Relations sponsors many events throughout the year. On various Sunday afternoons each ethnic cottage presents a program "on the lawn", including national dances, music and songs. On the last Sunday in May there is a Food Fair, where all cottages offer their favorite national foods. On the first weekend in December there is a highly popular celebration of "Christmas-on-the-Prado", also called "December Nights" when all cottages provide musical entertainment and delight the visitors with their ethnic dishes.

The following programs will be presented on the lawn in front of the House of Poland in 2005-2006

A Pulaski Day Observance - Tribute to Brig. General Kazimierz Pulaski, organizer of the U.S. cavalry, killed during the American War of Independence.

Friday, December 1 & Saturday December 2,  Balboa Park
"Christmas-on-the-Prado" – Celebration of the Holiday Season with lively music, a great variety of ethnic food, and festive illumination of the Prado.

Sunday, May 7, at 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Lawn Program, Balboa Park
Celebration of the 213th anniversary of the  Polish Constitution of May 3, 1791, the first European written constitution. A program of Polish music, songs and dances in colorful costumes from several regions of Poland. Presentation of awards to high school students who have won the top prizes for the 2003/04 scholarship contest. Popular Polish dishes will be served.

Sunday, May 28, at 2:00 p.m., Balboa Park
International Food Fair - All cottages will serve various ethnic dishes to delight your palate. Enjoy your favorite Polish dish, music and songs.
